Despite the fact that Georgia Moon counts itself among Heaven Hill’s Corn Whiskey Portfolio, it’s hard to take one look at it and not think one thing: moonshine. I mean, just look at it, for goodness sake. The folksy mason jar adorned with typeface that’s designed specifically to appear hand-written; the paper label that looks like it’s made out of a 1950s shopping bag… It’s called Georgia Moon, people – it’s hardly subtle. It’s almost as if Heaven Hill Distilleries are very much trying to appeal to a market that delights in quaint notions of authenticity and manufactured modesty.
